    I've heard it's a bit like earthquakes - If you expand chart ranges in a Fourier series, the time to sell is when the higher harmonics start building.

    I haven't tried it, and that could be a load of waffle. But you never know - might be worth looking into as a back up or bolster to your instinct.

    (Obviously it isn't infallible, or else everyone would do it and the market would be even more unstable.)

    So, let me just get it straight - you were banging on how great gold is, how much you bought for weeks, and now you quietly say you've sold your holdings and failed to mention it with same vigor?
