That's a thought. If Islam spread to Haiti suicide bombers could come back as zombies (they might need a bit of superglue) and blow themselves up again. Double their virgin quota.

So train home grown terrorists to bomb us, then we'd give you lots of aid
Perhaps the IRA should have asked for education funding ?

Simple really no UK politician has the balls to abandon foreign aid programmes, it's a keeping international face issue.Originally posted by fullyautomatix View PostWhat is wrong with these guys ??? Why are they pissing away cash like this on seemingly bizarre causes ?
I happen to think all overseas aid budgets should be reduced to zero during cutbacks and reviewed extensively and harshly at other times.

I look forward to the day when the government of the day (of any flavour) in the UK will spend some of this money we haven't got on the UK - rather than every other country in the world?Originally posted by fullyautomatix View PostWhat is wrong with these guys ??? What human rights? there aren't any. Though the ones who sneak in here are quite happy to use the HRA to enable themselves to stay here.Originally posted by xoggoth View PostI assume he thinks parents can send kids to real schools and learn something useful instead of Madrassas where they just sit rocking back and forth reciting the Quran in Arabic:

However, I doubt there will be any proper checks on how the money is spent and there will of course be total silence on Pakistan's awful human rights record.

Only "some" - 10% firstly will go to President Zardari as commission. 50% will actually be used to build schools, which will shortly thereafter be blown up by Taliban (aka the Military buddies), 40% will go into pockets of various feudal landowners who will then buy British weapons and goods.Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostBritain triples aid for Pakistan's schools - Telegraph
The Prime Minister was criticised for offering to spend more than £600 million of British taxpayers’ money in a country whose government he admitted could waste at least some of the aid.
Visiting Islamabad, the Pakistani capital, Mr Cameron announced that over the next four years, British aid for education in Pakistan could reach £650 million.
Meanwhile, in other news, your local school is to close due to lack of money.
Its complicated but, its a subsidy of sorts for the British economy.
