Yup I got by fine on my work and social trips there but if I've been looking for work there and German's often required
Agree about the ladyeeeeezzzz...remind me one day to tell the story of the very sophisticated looking tall blonde Bavarian Lufthansa air hostess who turned out to have a intricate Japanese water garden tattoo completely covering a thigh and bum cheek

The tax system can be good to you if you have a lot of expenses and dependants.

Not an engineer I'm afraid kind of an IT jack of all trades (master of some...ahem!)

Any hybrid self managing data/business analyst roles there?
I don't speak German and most of the Müncheners I talk to use me as an English teacher. I say no, it's pronounced, "gonna nae do that"

I've utterly no idea what that means but there's a gazillion engineering jobs here. As an engineer here on the Deutsche tax system I comfortably clear twice what I would earn in the UK and this is me comparing uk gross with my deutsche net income.

    ciao

I'd like to vist Farnborough again after all this time though likely much changed since the late 70's. There's a potential meet in London around the 8th April so an easy jaunt down that way.

Have you sat near the keg in Der Pschorr and had the first beer after the bell rings yet?

You should go for a BBQ down by the river as well. I've seen a few people running down the banks of the Isar trying to get their beer back as it floats away after they left the crate in the river to keep it cool . It's a great way to spend a sunny afternoon.

started a topic Just a perfect evening...

    Just a perfect evening...

So got home after work and thought lets go out for a walk, after all it's evening sunshine 18 degrees and the earth just smells fine after the previous nigh's rainfall. Folks sitting in the park with a bottle of wine, music in the background. Before I knew it we're in town eating Thai yum yums... Think I'm going to enjoy living in Munich this summer.
