Steve Jobs is a lying, greedy c**t who has been lucky to have some fairly talented designers and marketers working for him at the right time to allow him to piggy-back off global trends that would have happened with or without him.
I suppose if you ignore the Chinese slave labour, the blatant anti-competitive monopolistic models and designs, the rip off of open source code for their own private gains, and the lies upon lies ("flash doesn't work well on our devices", "just don't hold it that way"), he's actually not too bad.

Didn't Mugabe have one, and that Libyan chap in the news had something or other too? Both since having been confiscated, I believe.

They give them out for a less than that these days. The ex-RBS CEO has one for services to banking..whatever the hell that is. I'm waiting for my services to the bench knighthood to come through any moment now.Originally posted by Ignis Fatuus View Post"create stunning consumer products ... always taken design as the key component of everything it has produced". That's worth a knighthood?

It's simple really, just look at associations with their names:
Jobs - hard work, job creation, imminent success etc
Brown -

They are both politicians at the end of the day.Originally posted by AtW View PostQuiet, obviously.
One has created company valued at 325 bln USD, and the other wasted few times that number of taxpayer money and put their children into debt repayment for generations to come.
Same thing really innit?
Except Jobs, obviously.

Honours for favours is routine and has been going on for ever.Originally posted by AtW View PostThe point is, that according to his Liebor mate he rejected him because he refused to attend his party's gathering - the implication is that had he done so then he'd get knighthood.
Now maybe Steve Jobs does not deserve knighthood, but the implication that he was about to get given it for attending party meeting should really be investigated by the police - there is act you know of trading knighthoods for favours!
