The point is, that according to his Liebor mate he rejected him because he refused to attend his party's gathering - the implication is that had he done so then he'd get knighthood.

Now maybe Steve Jobs does not deserve knighthood, but the implication that he was about to get given it for attending party meeting should really be investigated by the police - there is act you know of trading knighthoods for favours!

Honours for favours is routine and has been going on for ever.
