    Nice, but at 12% efficient* only a couple of percent more efficient than current LEDs (~10% and improving). LEDs are expected to reach 25% efficient soon.




    *Maximum theoretical brightness is 683 lumens/Watt at 555nm (green)

    Compared to candle light 0.04% (tulipe), incandescent 2.5% (nice), florescent 10% (can't see colours, chuck those resistors away, or look again when the sun comes out), sodium 30% (everything is yellow) and quantum dot (theoretical potential) 60%.
