Ghent is really really cold this time of year, step out into the freezing north wind without your thermals and you will feel like you have nothing onOriginally posted by thunderlizard View PostGhent has the absolutely amazing Lamb of God altarpiece. It made my friend weep a bit and nearly fall over, though she is wont to overreact slightly.

Bruge?Originally posted by gingerjedi View PostI'm going on a Belgian beer tasting/falling over weekend to Bruges soon but one of my party has thrown in a a last minute suggestion of splitting the 2 nights over Ghent and Bruges.
I thought I'd ask the well travelled Euro experts if there's a good reason to go to Ghent or would Bruges be a better bet for 2 nights?

Ghent is nice, but the beautiful part is much much smaller than Brugge
best stay 2 nights in Brugge
if your mate wants to have a night in Gent then let him go on his own and tell you all how good it was
lots of good pubs in Brugge and a Sunday flea market so plenty to fill two nights
take it steady pace yourselves on the small strong beers
