A haunted house would be great. Spectral occurences are usually accompanied by a marked drop in temperature which could be harnessed by a suitably designed device to generate electricity and save on the power bills.

Trouble is you might need a demon to drop the temperature in the first place.

Estates I can understand, if they go to pot, but why would anyone just abandon a detached house FFS? Do they believe in ghosts or something?
Mind you, having said that, back in the 60s there were several large abandoned houses in Wimbledon, although it seems unbelievable now when the same kind of houses sell for 10 million. We used to play in them as kids.

Seems like the Irish are ruling out a rise in their corporation tax, which is one of the lowest in Europe and the reason they attract a lot of big companies. However I don't think the Germans etc will be happy if they don't, and I don't think Ireland are in a position to rule out anything.
