Cracking set of presents, including a red letter day for an hour and a half inside a flight simulator for a 737 (yes I'm a proper geek) and a £200 pair of headphones for my computer.
I remember the birthday when I got a train set when I was 8 and that was pretty cool, but this tops that. Probably more excited about the flight simulator than the impending child atm tbh.
Not been in Flight Sim but my mate and fellow aviator (his dad was an ex-Airbus training captain) just had a go in an A320 simulator for free - the lucky, lucky bastard - he said the experience was as real as you could get (both of us have been up front in the jumpseat many times in commercial jets as PPLs, before Abdullah and the worshippers of the comedy beards spoilt all that).
So, let's not make this thread all about me. Anyone been on a flight simulator before? Is it proper geekery fun, or not? Will the pilot let me 'crash' it (will he even have a choice)? Anyone else having a good day?
Ask him very nicely if he'll let you barrel role it. I worked on flight simulator software in the past but not civilian.
