Bonfire night in June? We used to have one at Halloween but never in the middle of the year, although my Da's early barbeque trials were a little like bonfires.

Bonfire night was on midsummer's eve round my way.

Sainsburys has 3 for 2 on those massive boxes of sweets too. The Dog is a nightmare Diet Sabatouer (sp?!) and we have loads of chocolate in the house.

I love bonfire night, only because they have fireworks at it over here. In Ireland bonfire night is in June, with no fireworks.

Local Sainsburys already has "Three for Two" offers on Christmas gifts on the shelves. Not even friggin bonfire night yet.

Won't belong before the night sky is lit by the glow of a thousand LED Santas climbing the chimneys of the local council estates.

Just wait till it all gets into full swing and you can't go out of the house without being plagued by the strains of tinny recordings of Slade or Roy Wood earning this years pension payments.

As for xmas, i'm in the same boat as MaryP, it's a waste of time over nowt.

I don't even like turkey, would have a 3 bird roast or goose but a certain member of MrN's family doesn't like it and because its at his mums I don't get to do much cooking.
