Probably the most amazing thing I have seen in my life.

It's the Weston beach race this weekend, it really pisses me off that I can't get on it without paying £40 to some spiv bastard organiser who doesn't even live here.

I have no desire to go on the beach in mid October ...but if I did.

I don't know about that, but my local fireworks display and bonfire do that (not long to go now). They fence the area off and shine bright lights at the freeloaders, and berate us too.

    They did in Athens IIRC.

I've taken the prices and cross referenced them against the list of events I want to go to. My total expenditure projection is precisely what it was before the price of the events was announced.

Am I a top forecaster or what?

How do these things work, do you mill around for the rest of the day after seeing the event you paid for not being able to see anything?

Buy tickets for the 10000 metres and then you'll get your money's worth.

Expect these Olympics to be 10 times as bad, there will be no escape.

I'm going away somehwere where there is no television for that particular fortnight.

Grice I have an idea for you. Why dont you sleep off the entire fortnight ? Just take about 15 sleeping pills to last that long.

Hopefully your flight will crash into a mountain and you'll be the only fatality.
