    Scary stuff.

I lost nearly 4 stone in a couple of months due to a combination of amoebic dyssentry and giardiasis, which started after a meal in a 5 star hotel. Took me nearly 2 years to get fit again, by which stage no top club was interested any more. Bring me that chef (no, not you, chef) and I’ll kick the bloody tulip out of him. Well actually I won’t; it might be a public health hazard.

Serious; India’s got a lot of wonderful things, but with that level of hygiene it’s not a good place for athletes.

A number of athletes have pulled out stating 'security concerns', but in reality I think they're scared of getting food poisoning.

Nitin Gokhale, security editor for NDTV, told Sky News that most of the injured are thought to be construction workers, who were working ahead of the opening ceremony on 3 October.

He said the bridge could have been weakened by weeks of heavy rains in the area.
The area being the area that suffers from monsoons around about September/October every year then?

Does that make amoebic dyssentry an 'added feature'?

Team delegates have described the accommodation as filthy, unhygienic and unfit for human habitation.
