    come on you lot - you are supposed to be technically savvy

    if the checkout ladies with the lovebites can manage it surely so can you......

    I never have problems - so I probably should think of a career chaneg to checkout bloke (lovebites optional)

    probably

    Reply thereto. If you kept track of what your sockpuppets were doing in which tab, you wouldn't have these problems

    Never used 'em as there is always a long queue of confused-looking old dears at them.

    Just the utterance of these few words I am sure will have the red mist descending on the good people of CUK so, brace yourselves, for I'm going to say it;

    UNEXPECTED ITEM IN BAGGING AREA

    I have just spent 20 minutes in Tesco and was subjected to this irksome advisory on no less than 4 occasions and each one of these occasions requiring the involvement of a member of staff. I'd have been better off joining the regular queue despite the fact there were 50 people in it! I can only be thankful that I don't indulge in the consumption of alcoholic beverages otherwise I'd have had to have waited for yet another intervention.

    While I'm on the subject, I was further delayed when one of my carrier bags disintegrated. Why oh why can't they MAKE THE BAGS A LITTLE THICKER? I'm as green as the next man and would normally use my own bags but this was a spur of the moment trip. I actually used to like that thick paper shopping bags furnished by Safeway a few years Bach. They were strong and , most importantly, biodegradable. I seem to recall they also had a system involving cardboard boxes at one time which worked well.

    Anyway, I digress, anyone else find these self service checkout becoming the bane if their lives? It any other of life's little irritations you'd like to share?
    What, like you?
