I stayed in a very nice hotel there. I'd got caught on my way back up north by the local going-to-the-pub-traffic so decided to stop overnight.

Found it - the Fosse Manor Hotel. It appears to be part of a chain now; back then it was privately owned. Good food, nice room, friendly bar, lovely breakfast - just the thing after a week's hard coding.

I spent a few of my formative years in MK. It's the suicide capital of Britain, or used to be at least. I presume the Prodigy are playing the bowl?

The cinema, which is an 80s modern thing in the shape of a pyramid, used to be called the point when first built, and was I believe the first "multiplex" cinema in Britain, but I think it was easy cinema last time I was there. That was a few years ago, I expect the carpet has been redone in burberry check by now.

As I recall, stony stratford (Stony Stratford, UK - the Jewel of Milton Keynes) is the "posh" bit. Bletchly Park might be worth a visit if you are early and like that sort of thing.
