I suspect that at one point she was his missus, and that she was responsible for killing him. She definitely exhibited bossy female traits towards him, and was insistent that the "Bishop" (?) didn't tell the Doctor who she really was.

    Oh and Donna.....

So basically. The Dalek is talking......tulipe.

    Aye MF

Rose didnt fly the Tardis by her self - its only when the Spirit of the Tardis took over Rose and even then the Tardis had been programmed to return back to where it was last located (emergency program 2 ?)

    (Episode Parting of the Ways)

Romana - wasnt she a TimeLord ? As for flying the Tardis alone - Maybe -

Donna could only navigate the Tardis when she was Half human - half Timelord - the Dr Donna - in her human mode as the 10th Doctor commented - she couldnt change a light bulb ...

    (Episode Journeys End )

Mind you that 'Dalek'is not quite a real Dalek - in that sense.

Another thing, until the penultimate episode I didn't realise that the Cybermen actually "assimilated" humans. Which came first, the Borg or Cybermen?

Well no- think back to the episode the Sound of Drums - remember the Master nicked the Tardis and flew it back to 2004ish ?

Some thoughts harvested from a Dr Who Forum - interesting

It’s quite clear now that the crack-in-the-wall stems from the spliting of the universe into multiple realities when the 10th Doctor’s explosive regeneration went wrong.

We are currently watching the events unfold in the universe where the regeneration completed and the Tardis is almost destroyed but saved by the 11th Doctor.

In the other universe however the 10th Doctor’s tardis is so badly damaged during regeneration that it explodes… leaving the 10th Doctor very much alive -but creating the crack-in-the-wall.

This is why the 11th Doctor was able to pull a bit of the destroyed tardis through it in episode where Rory was lost to time.

I bet in a future episode yet to air, Dr River Song will have to travel to that reality and kill the 10th Doctor (who is unaware of the split in dimensions) and says that she killed ‘the best man she has ever known’ as he would have to fight all instincts to regenrate based only on her word.

If you watched '"Forest of the Dead". ( a Moffat creation) ...

The future Doctor knew what was going to happen to River Song, since he had already experienced it.

He gave her the sonic screwdriver, so that he could save her personality in the Libraries data core, to let her live on after a fashion when her body died.

So theres a question mark over her Death .

Steven Moffat, who wrote "Silence in the Library / Forest of the Dead" is the new Doctor Who executive producer after all, so it not surprising he has big plans for the River Song character in future series.

    But Who is she ?

    Time Will Tell ...

So she may well be a Doctor - or another TimeLord - interesting development.

I reckon when they meet that she may be the companion of the Master!

    WHS

And one of the daleks said something like "only the Dr can fly the Tardis"... so how could she do it?

And, for the record, I loved it - it was a good ending for the series.

She was the lead in that Scottish Drama/Comedy about the four girls who do a runner with her husbands £1M quid.

That was pretty watchable as well(can't be bothered to google for it)
