That level of surveillance of an entire population is a rather large step in the wrong direction
London is completely ringed with ANPR cameras so why not one neighbourhood of the second largest city? I know feck all about policing but I do know that terrorism is not going to be defeated by a poster campaign.

a friend of mine in the smoke got a parking ticket because his car was seen by the camera on double yellows while he went to a cash machine or some such
