But from what I have gathered about the event, it mainly comprises a few middle-aged fat blokes on bikes rather than a wide selection of buxom young nubiles. I bet these are better organised on the continent.

Have you ever caught your nuts on the end of a saddle? Taught me the value of tight underwear.

Yes. My bike has a habit of not catching properly on the chain when I first move off (old sprockets) and it can slip quite a bit sometimes. I once squashed my nuts quite badly and it hurt for about 2 miles, it was probably the front of the saddle though.
