0800 numbers are free from landlines, it depends on your mobile provider contract if they are included in your free minutes bundles or not, most of them don't currently.

05 Corporate, some free and some high rate
07 Mobile, pagers, wifi
08 Freephone (toll free) and Special Services (formerly known as local and national rate)
0800 Free to call from landline, exorbitant to call from mobile (40p/min!)
0842, 0843 and 0844 Slightly higher fixed rate charge (~5p/min)
0845 Slightly highr rate, varies (~5p/min)
0870 Higher rate, varies on time of day (~8p/min)
0871 Higher rate (~10p/min)
0872 Higher rate (~10p/min)
0873 Higher rate (~10p/min)
09 Premium Rate services. Highest charges of all.

100 Operator
101 (10p per call) being trialled for non-urgent crime and community safety calls
112 I didn't realise 112 worked for emergency services in the UK (as well as 999)
115 International operator
118xxx Directory enquiries e.g. 118212, 118800, 118500, 118118

0906 are £1.00 a minute at least.

The Schengen country embassies make u call one if you're non-EU for 15/20 mins to book an appointment for a visa interview. Bastards.
