Previously on "Breaking: Gordon Brown caught on microphone calling a woman as "bigoted person""

Finally got round to reading the transcript. What an idiot Gordon is. It clearly shows he wasn't listening to what she was saying, and only the mention of "Eastern Europeans", flaired a brain-cell into life, and raised a "bigot" flag in his brain. Typical, knee-jerk, "ideology is everything and stuff the individual people" socialist political response.

Who’ll be the first to say ‘I agree with Gillian Duffy’ in the leaders’ TV debate?

Is it only me?......
Quite apart from calling the Old Girl a Bigot......
Quite apart from his total lack of judgement and empathy.... (he did after all leave her "happy" after the initial conversation)...
Why is it that no one seems to be "bovvered" that he was "smooth and unctious" indeed "slimey and smarmy" when he was talking to her, agreeing with her, nodding and grinning like a twunt.... but the instant he got in the car he went off on one.......
I would hope that when speaking to an adult that another adult (even a <spit> politico would be able to say openly "I disagree with you..." - Open and honest, straight talking etc.......
When "they" speak to Fartarse (the BNP twunt) "they" manage to be polite while still making clear that they disagree with him....
=======
And (IMHO) by far his worse mistake was coming out after his 45-1hr "meeting" with the old bint with that 'kin awful plastic "smile" on his face.... if there was ever a time where his standard sombre ugly humourless visage was called for - that was it Shirley!......
=======
And watching Mandleperson squirming trying to "justify" it was just great......
PressLizard: "Does Mr Brown often say things he doesn't mean??"....
Mandlegrunt: "I think I have answered that question!"....
The entire western world (off mic): "NOOOO YOU FU<KING HAVEN'T!!!!!!!!!"

Saw a short comparison on the good old impartial Beeb last night, highlighting the differing attitudes towards immigration in both Reading and Oxford.
Those they interviewed in Reading were clearly from the lower echelons of society, and essentially were fairly negative towards the large influx of immigrants. In particular the large volume of semi and unskilled eastern europeans. This seemed to be due to them being unable to find work and housing, when their obvious perception was that a lot of this was being readily given to the newcomers.
In Oxford they cited the large number of immigrants that were either studying at the prestigious Universities, or even teaching there.
They couched the whole article in terms of it being mystifying that 2 towns within 25 miles of each other had radically differing attitudes towards immigrants.
Now to me it was a completely disingenuous piece that was hardly comparing like for like. Whether this was deliberate on the part of the Beeb or just plain incompetence remains to be seen.

Brown really fluffed this up. He went to the north of England wanting to talk to ‘ordinary voters’; there are a couple of things he should have kept in mind before going; many northerners can come across as blunt and will tell you exactly what they think, but that bluntness does not equate to hatred or bigotry. In fact, it’s often a sign they feel comfortable enough with you to share their views. If Snot Goblin got out more and listened to his own supporters he might have known that.
Oh, and it seems this woman really was a 'hard working northerner' who'd spent her life working with disabled kids and felt a lot of empathy for those less fortunate than herself.

Having seen the video of Gordon's encounter with the granny, I am at a loss as to why he lost his cool and called her a bigot. She did not heckle him nor did she pose any tricky questions to him. In fact he handled her well telling her plenty have migrated into Europe too. Bizarre.
I have to say if he wanted to win this election he should have spoken to more such people and addressed their concerns. He has lost a big opporunity.

It's like you can't question anything they do, 'cause you'll be called a racist for your troubles.
"I don't like your tax policy." "That'll be 'cause your a racist innit."
They don't debate anything, they just call people names.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.
How not to win an election lesson one - make it completely clear to your core supporters the contempt in which you hold them.
I don't think anyone expected Brown to last long after the election whether he wins it or not but I think that is his political career most definitely over. Yes it was a private remark but it shows what he is really thinking.
In the long run it will probably be a good thing for the Labour Party if it forces them to address what they are doing and who they are doing it for.
