    Gordon doesn't do people.

That is why he never thinks through how his schemes work in practice, with people involved.

He's been intensively trained to "smile while being interviewed", but he just can't get it right, either the timing or the appearance, any more than a chimp can tie a reef knot.

I just dont get it when he breaks into a stupid smile in the middle of a discussion. There is a serious interview going on ( like now on telly about britons stranded abroad) and every couple of minutes, almost as if on cue, he breaks into a stupid smile, for no apparent reason, and goes back to serious face. WTF ?

Of course, but it's not his looks per se but the blatantly insincere way he tries to smile at times when he's not naturally inclined to. Churchill would never have bothered with that.

And the result is a sinister, rictus grin that he flashes on and off in an instant

Oh yes. But in Gordy's case, let's leave no avenue of vilification unexplored.

    Gordon Brown's Smile

I've always been unsettled by this man's smile but I could never quite put my finger on exactly what it was that troubled me about it. Then, this morning while looking at the online papers, it suddenly came back to me. As a child, I used to have one of those recurring nightmares in which a hideous old hag came into my room at night and tickle me to death with her horny claws whilst cackling madly. He really is the spitting image of her....
