    What is a "major blue chip organisation"? The likes of Shell? Wal-Mart? Toyota? And how many are in Manchester? It's not the council, is it?

    Additional activities/accountabilities include:

    -Ensures that development and process standards are adhered to within projects.
    Is that a DBA's job?

    -Ensures consistency of process, design and architecture within projects.
    Is that a DBA's job?
    -Participates in the decision process in the selection and provision of key development and process artefacts.
    Is that a DBA's job?
    -Lead reviews of technical designs & standards documentation (outsource or internal).
    Is that a DBA's job?
    -Agree and document scope of technical Proof-of-Concepts in database space.
    "In the database space"? I in my boots.
    -Necessary technical/functional skills include:

    -Specialising in the area of full applications life cycle development methodologies (eg RUP, Waterfall, Agile) either from a delivery or consultancy background
    Is that a DBA's job?

    -Proficient in Performance aspects of data architecture
    Is that a DBA's job?
