I'm not sure what that is in Kgs though.
There's soft wood (goes up the chimney in minutes)
There's hard wood (burns forever)
And in both categories the wood needs to be dry! There are cowboys out there selling stuff that was cut yesterday which no good, otherwise it spends half the time drying out with no heat.
Once you find a reliable supplier for good quality, you've no worries... Worth paying the extra £20-30 IMO

I heard in Westminster some residents have the lowest council tax in the land, around £300 - £400, I gather because most tax is paid for by business.
All hale Socialism!

Come to think of it the bloody water now costs £400 per year for house I rent, FFS - £2.50 for 2 bottles of 2L diet coke in local Tesco.
What are you people drinking down there????

Things getting tough? And we haven't even started tackling the massive deficit yet. Boomed.

The average council tax bill has almost doubled in the past decade, says a report by the Halifax building society.
The rise, from more £550 to almost £1,100, is three times higher than the rate of inflation and twice the increase in average earnings.
The tax is now 91% higher than when Tony Blair first took office.
And that was 2007!
Our council tax bill just came in yesterday too, £1950

How do I go about setting this up if I have a standard combi boiler connected to central heating and hot water outlets ?
We had a back boiler system which has now been replaced by a modern combi boiler, which is great. However there was a massive hole in the fireplace where the back boiler used to be, which the hot furniture company renovated for us. Masonry, lined the chimney, fitted a black ash hearth and the stove of course.
It's lit most evenings, the heating is off and only the lounge (the high ceiling sort, which is often more costing for the central heating) is very toasty. Only one log or two if you need a boost is required.
Since we live in the city I order my wood from a local company in Peebles, £65 for 300 Kgs, which lasts me a couple of months.
If I lived in the sticks I'd probably cut my own, instead I've got it stacked in the communal hallway - looks rather rustic.
