OK it originally wasn't. It's the middle Sunday in Lent and has been celebrated for centuries..........

As a Swiss resident, I don't get any advanced notice of the UK Mothering Sunday. So, sorry mum. As a UK citizen I refuse to be pulled into American commercially driven celebratory dates. So, sorry mum.
