I'd happily pay double the cost of the car to avoid driving into London. In fact I promised myself back in 1995 never to drive any closer than Lewisham and even that's pushing it.

Planning a weekend in London at the back end of May for the Chelsea flower show, theater and a bit of gallery viewing.

Even booking this far ahead train tickets for the two of us are over £100 return. If I can find some secure overnight parking for less than £50 I can do it cheaper by driving down and using the car gives a bit more flexability about travelling times. I've already booked the hotel and they have no parking facilities of their own.

So, can anyone recommend any halfway decent, secure overnight parking in or around central london, preferably outside the congestion zone for less than £50?

Get an oil change at Kwik Fit, phone them up and tell them that you will collect your car next morning. £25

I occasionally park in Leytonstone car park.

I usually park outside my house in Teddington.

Sometimes use the NCP in Richmond.

Hotel is the Tower Hill area, right on the edge of the Zone, but just on the wrong side.

Best I've found so far is here whch is a ten minute walk from the Hotel.

You sure about that? It's on the opposite side of the river for a start.

Paddington has a manned carpark that's not too badly priced and outside C zone, bit of a trek to Chelsea from there though.

Is the the place behind the police station? Looks like flipping Beirut that place does!

Have you ever seen the exotic metal parked in the streets around SW3? WTF do you drive that needs secure parking for?! Do you own a special edition Veyron or something?!

Edit: Sorry, I've just spotted you're staying in Tower Hill. Just whack it in the nearest NCP and be done with it. Many have cheap weekend parking rates.

Actually get a shed of a 4x4 and you can drive happily anywhere in London. Never enjoyed the South Circular more the in my 1982 Land Rover. The lack of speed isn't an issue and everyone - including white van types - get out the way.

Drive in, park in an NCP. Give them an extra tenner to wash your car. Sorted.
