I have some old aircraft parts in the loft. Joystick from a Canberra, altimeter from the prototype Harrier - P.1127 it was called. Lots of assorted bits from more than one TSR2 and many others. Think they might be worth something?

That's not as a good a price as one bloke got for his 25 year old washing machine by adding a silly story.

He got over $5,000 NZD for it.

Other enquiries were more sceptical, with one reader suggesting he too had spirits in bottles in a cupboard at home.

"I think they are called Jim Beam and the other is Johnnie Walker," he said.
