I'd go bespoke over named off-the-peg. No offence Mr. Palmer. The difference will be considerable and the price not that different unless you head to the super smart parts of the big smoke.Originally posted by FarmerPalmer View PostAnother vote for Hugo Boss, but mine have been tailored to fit as well.
As BlackenedBiker mentioned Crombie, I thought I’d say that I bought one of their coats in the winter sale. Mighty impressive military thing that easily fends off the worst of the weather, and I’m in Northern Ireland which is always bloody cold. I was so pleased I bought the old man one (albeit the more standard retro overcoat) for his birthday a couple of weeks back.

Get yourself down to saville row.Originally posted by BlackenedBiker View PostMy brother is getting married. I am his best man.
The dress code is light grey suit, white shirt open collar.
So I want the killer suit. English or American style and I am not averse to 3 piece.
Suggestions
You will of course want it made from this: http://www.hollandandsherry.com/apparel/signature.aspx
If that is a bit too expensive, there are places that will do a made to measure (not quite the same as fully bespoke, but it will still fit better than any off the peg job) suit with your choice of detailing for £5-600. I can recommend Roderick Charles on Jermyn Street (also one by liverpool st I think) and Mangas (best google it, they were up by london wall I think)

I use these guys:

Not quite an old Savile Row firm but very competent all the same.
Plus they'll come and see you. You get 3 fittings and a perfect suit.

No - it really makes a difference... I wouldn't have suggested PS had you told us earlier...Originally posted by BlackenedBiker View PostOk maybe not, but it did when I went to Paul Smith HQ in Lace Market a couple of years ago and I was laughed out of the shop because I wasn't built of lolly pop sticks
