Has anyone undertaken this mammoth task?

As I will be closing L'Tat shop next year I need something else to focus in on.

Yes, actually I do have, especially with regard to the OU MBA.

Gather up as much of your old qualifications as possible and try and get as much 'credit transfer' as possible.

The more of the tulip you can avoid, the better, and the more likely it is you will complete the course without going postal.

Also most of the course materials are written by people whose first language is most certainly not English, and it's not been proof read before being printed and sent to you. Yet they do have a big thing about correct usage of apostrophes...

There were two distinct groups on my MBA. The younger (starting at 24 FFS) group who were treating it as another year at uni and the older group who were doing it for the subject matter and the contacts. Partly that's because I did a full time course. Part time courses tend to be the older group mainly.

I did a 3 day Benefits Management course there, nice campus (great for those who like aircraft) and in the middle of nowhere so less likely to get distracted. I've a friend who's doing his MBA there and there was a bit of a misunderstanding when I mentioned Cranfield - the MBAers don't realise that they do other courses as well...

Started one once on Open University and then transferred to MSc when the bulltulip became too much to take.

The plan for me is to move into a directors role within the business. I was on this path until recently. I dont want to stick around on geeky stuff for ever you know!

It sounds like you've got the interest and the future use so go for it. I really enjoyed it. Make sure you choose the course which is right for you and what you want to do in the future.

Be prepared for a tulipe load of work though!

As a Director let me give you a hint (not from my experience but I learn from others) that would make your Directorship long and prosperous - don't punch employees!

No, I've got high standards and prefer fit ones, MBA is optional extra...
