    Aye, remember the failed US attempt to rescue the Iranian hostages as well.

    This story does make you wonder about the sanity of leaving your passport with hotel reception when in foreign climes.

    (IsraelNN.com) Britain's Daily Mail paper reports that Israel's Mossad informed Britain's MI6 that it was carrying out an overseas operation using British passports. According to the report, the British government knew that Israel was using British passports for the purpose of the operation. "It wasn't a request for permission, but rather a courtesy call," a British security source is quoted as saying.

    One of them was disguised as a woman, like Ehud Barak in 1973.

    What? I always thought they were hard as nails, especially after they hunted down every terrorist involved in the Munich Olympic fiasco. OK, so they killed that innocent dude by mistake, but lets not quibble over one waiter. Very ruthless, very efficient.

    or they were. Now they just look amateurish and comical. Eleven assassins? badly faked British passports? In fact the more I think about it the more I reckon it can't have been them, just because it is all so mickey mouse.

    Maybe the cheeky use of fake passports is partly an "eff you" to countries who the Israelis think have been too sympathetic to the Palestian side in the Middle East peace talks.

    They may have even been hoping to sow doubt in Arab eyes that the passports were faked and the perps were Mossad, although that doesn't seem to have worked.

    Well I have to say I'm a bit confused about the whole thing - there are literally thousands of unsolved murders in the civilised world every year, how difficult would it be if you are Mossad to take someone out discreetly??? I mean, which part of 'Secret Service' do you not understand?

    And it takes 11 assasins to kill ONE guy? Jeez, James Bond can take out a load of guys in just a few hours.

    Mossad = unscary = FAIL!

    David Miliband: Yes off course, you have our full backing.

    Mosad: Let’s see how far Britain is going to publicly back us.

    Tennis gear was pretty clever I think, basically allowed them to walk about with 2 weapons in their hands and a towel to stick in his face to stop him shouting.
