Düsseldorf is a great place to go out, also there are lots of Expats here, the nicest area being the Mediaharbour with the altstadt varying in price and level. -

The Altstadt, as has been mentioned, is a brill place. Plenty of pubs, clubs and food places. Thoroughly recommend it.

Don't know about Dortmund, but Dusseldorf is a really nice spot. The main bar area is Bolker Strasse in the Altstadt (as linked above), and there is also a line of food/bar places along the waterfront, which is a good place to get a plate of fish and fried potatoes or a pizza etc to set you up ready for the evening while you watch the sun go down. That's a couple of minutes walk from Bolker.
On Bolker you can sit outside any number of bars and have beer brought to you all evening. Quite a few of the bars also have dancefloors for later on. Definitely a good town for a night out.
People say Cologne is better, but I only went there during the day. Did look quite nice though.Leave a comment:
