I have a twitter account for my desktop machine - every hour it tweets to say that it's still running and how long it's been switched on for. Nothing else.
And people follow it.

I think everyone else should be encouraged to use as many of these social tracking sites as they can. The more internet chatter the better.
Eventually we'll all be contracting for GCHQ, MI5 and 6, HMRC, and any other govermin quangos that want to track our every move via one giant database.
For me I try to reduce my footprint to just this site nowadays, and everyone knows I'm just a sockpuppet of Sparticus like the rest of us.

I know what you mean about FB, I have a strict policy on not inviting ex girlfriends, if they invite me to be a friend then that's OK as I can't be accused of flirting/stalking.
