I stayed in one hotel that had budget tellies in the non-exec rooms. These couldn't get the full range of channels that the exec tellies could. Sorted by smuggling in my video recorder from home.

Many hotel TV systems can be hacked easily with a USB TV Tuner and a laptop.

Not always the case. I worked with a scouser many years ago who also did a bit of TV repairs to supplement his income.Originally posted by sweetandsour View PostI find that it is best not to start raiding the mini-bar when staying away for a gig because that can cause a hefty dent in the profit from said gig.
Anyway, he mentioned that if you wanted to watch in-house movies for free then if you took the back off the TV, there were some dipswitches set up so that they corresponded to your room for billing purposes. He would alter these on day one, watch all the films he wanted, then reset them before checking out on a friday. Some random person would then get your bill.
He had also found out a way of getting round paying for the minibar, which involved powering it off and disabling the internal battery. He would then just leave 1 of everything at the front of each compartment. Real wide boy.

You certainly wouldn't want to stay the night. They take the money once the bottle is lifted from its place. I suppose this is to stop people drinking it then replacing it with water or something.

Or perhaps we should just get smaller glasses.

The Tesco Finest cream liqueur is a lot nicer than baileys - has a good quality Whisky with fresh cream, nothing else.
Much easier to slip down...........
Must be very calorific though with all that cream plus the alcohol!

'Toucheth not the mini bar'
Took the kids away last year and they looked at the bottles, purely out of curiosity. I had a coronary, mini stroke and my eyeballs popped out when I saw the bill.
