Or when they say "Depending on experience"..... and then when you give your rate they say - "We are getting people asking 1/2 that rate......"

Thats because they haven't got any 'kin EXPERIENCE - Does the role need experience or can it be done by a 'kin Numpty like SAS?
If its a Numpty role then tell me and don't waste my 'kin time.... you will not get an experienced guy/girl at that rate... FFS

Just had 'Winter' on the phone (well not Winter but another seasonal agent)...

    Role : Finance in Cheshire...

She says I'm right for the role except. ahem, the role's a bit low...

I say - Low, how low?

She says she's too embarassed to say...

I say - Cheshire, finance - it must be Barc**** - so it must be really low.

    She laughs

    I say - my rate minus £175?

She says come on it is Barc****!!

I told her, I've enjoyed our conversation and then wished her a good weekend.

It comes to something when the agents are so embarassed with the rates...

    How we laughed...

Muenster? You lucky fellow! A splendid and cultured city indeed!

I have temporary lodgings in the fine Hanseatic town of Haarlem, renowned for perhaps the greatest choice of fine restaurants in the Netherlands, with the possible exception of Maastricht. 600 euros a day in one of Europe’s leading culinary cities is a life many others would envy!

    Sorry, that was uncalled for.

so if £190 is about 40k then you would be in the top 15 - ok I know that you have all of your employer costs coming out of this but also if you run a limited you can get the relevant tax breaks etc and probably end up with similar in the back pocket figures to the permie salary.

So the next question is what would you guys be happy with? A salary in the top 5% in the country (equates to about £58k per year)

I think in these recesions struck times a little bit of intelligence may come in useful.

I mean 100% of £180 per day is a fu<k lot more the 0% of £500 per day!

It's more likely that stating Knutsford means that people know who the end client is - Manchester makes that a little harder!

What we found at BT was they basically advertised the roles at half the day rate
You know that and I know that, but the govt body who are so called policing it will likely accept it. If you have a documented case then get it reported.

As others have probably mentioned, Barclays have a place called Radbroke Hall out in Knutsford. Probably got some Indian based off-shoring firm in who want plenty cheapness much quickness!

The won't get anyone from the UK on that reate so will then use it as justification to bring in one of their own chaps from Sunnier Climes...
