Thanks for all the posts. I should be able to terminate before three months (in if I am not on any projects I could potentially leave within a week if lucky).
Don't fancy going for DV clearance, due to the intrusion and typical working conditions.
The reason for going as a contractor is due to my desire to have more control over my time (although I'm not adverse to working exceptionally hard when required) and money. My current role often feels like a contract role as my past two jobs have involved working on projects (either on client site or away from home) changing collegues on a regular basis
