    Although it is used as singluar when referring to a broadcast or the contents of a periodical, it can be used either way when referring to the contents of such items or to ad hoc pieces of information, although I concede it would sound rather archaic. It is in that latter form that AtW used it.

    I believe English is not his first language. This shows up in that while his English is very good some sounds a little anachronistic - but it is technically still correct. It is the kind of English I was taught at school.
