Gotta say I've never been chased harder by a company, or felt more wanted. They upped the salary for me, they're giving me 4000 stock options when I start, they give good bonuses, and already said they want me to get promoted into another position in 6-9 months.

    Think I'll be taking it!

I fell for that one in my last permie job. 18 months into it, I'd had 0 discretionary days, and had to take holiday days when I was ill, or get no pay for the day (in the first 6 months - half pay for the next 6 months).

Mind you, I did get a massive 17 days holiday, so that was OK

Can give you some job boards if you're interested.

Put the vacation days into perspective, how many years are you intending to live there and how many of those would you stay at the same company?

I think Singapore is a fantastic place and would love to live there for the novelty value but I couldn't see myself staying there more than a couple of years. You have to go a long way to get some cold weather.

The people that I know who have worked there loved it but did not stay longer than nine months.

Got no issues with living there, I've been twice and know some people with kids who live there, which is the main attraction; family life. It's a great place to bring up kids, safe, clean, good schools and it's relatively close to Australia where my missus family all are. Plus we should be able to recapture some of our social life there - we pay £1800 a month in child care costs here, over there we can get a live in maid for £300 a month. Ready made babysitter if we wanna go out, and stops a cinema night from being a £100 night out for example.

From what I've read, it sounds a great place to visit as a tourist (one or two things notwithstanding), but I'd leave it at that.

Because the moment you start work there, the shine wears off and the depression will set it. Once the rosy glasses come of, everything will lost its lustre.

I'd say ditch it, the holidays are pants, and visit on your terms, not work under theirs.

Lightly cooked or raw cod will do very nicely if cod worms will suffice.

They have tiny barbs so they can not be expelled and it's agony every time you go to the toilet.
I had to have the full umbrella treatment once a week, just to keep myself clear.

A friend ate one of those little white chicken sausages and contracted liver flukes. He is still completely yellow, and his hands shake and he looks about eighty years old. Shocking.

And within this little snippet of text are around 2 years worth of excellent sick day excuses, which will help boost your holiday days to 30 per year!

I may use these over the coming weeks. Can you get parasitic fish in London?
