I reckon it's his post count causing memory problems. Set it to Zero and see what happens

Or just let LR posts count, just in case that impacts the performance. I bet it does, as the display would have to do two counts - total and then LR and subtract the two.

Somewhere in TPD within the past year I posted about a number of simple things that could be done to speed the forum up and reduce the amount of bandwidth required to serve it. Now that I've got a copy of vBulletin I find that some of the most obvious are options in the Admin Control Panel, and are described in the vBulletin forum stickies, meaning they are trivial to apply.

None of them appear to have been done.

Indeed. It's easy to pick on an obvious symptom and treat that, while leaving the underlying condition to fester.

Conversely, treating the underlying condition may cause the obvious symptom to resolve itself.

If you are still getting database errors (and people are), then the only valid answer is that locking TPD made no difference.
