I read a report that said that there might have been passengers of flight 103 who died on the ground.Originally posted by hyperDThat's a plane's normal cruising or service altitude - a B767 can top 43,000ft for example. However, payload, fuel, wind factors etc will determine actual flight level which will be lower around 35,000ft or so.

The devil can quote scripture etc.
Totally off the topic, but when researching my Hitler story found some interesting things on Ydrasil and other white supremacist websites. As one might expect, they liked to expose Martin Luther King as a drunk and womaniser. On the other hand when it suited them they were quite happy to quote him as an unimpeachable authority. His remark for example that when he heard someone behind him in the street he was always relieved if they were white.
I thought it was interesting anyway. People are wierd. What was the topic? Oh yeh Cheers Chico, same to you.The god of atheists send his greetings. He is a nice chap although as you might imagine, rather full of self doubt.

Not that it would make a whole lot of difference.

Even worse is a low-level incident - then you might survive the initial impact. There you are, your body broken and twisted, your innards your outaards, with bile on your lips and blood on your hands, when suddenly your nose comes to life. You smell the kerosene before it ignites, and watch as your face gradually melts into the floor. Probably the screams wouldn't be heard above the still spinning engine. And even then you might survive the burning. Think of it ... in the hospital bed, the searing agony of shedding skin and puss and excrement and certain death. Mmmm ....Originally posted by stackpoleI thought only Concorde went that high, and most other stuff was 28,000 to 35,000.

Still, it might not happen.

I offer no proof as to the existence of God whatsoever. It is my belief that He exists and millions of others agree. Millions disagree also. You pays your money and you takes your choices.Originally posted by Dundeegeorgeand one that might be salient if in fact god even existed. any proof?

An interesting viewpoint Xerxes
Originally posted by XerxesI have heard of some attempts by those (I will not call them Christians) on the right wing to push the view that the correct translation is "Thou shalt not murder", thereby justifying war. How does it feel to be a fake Christian? Far worse tha an atheist in the eyes of God, I'll wager, for haven't you taken his name in vain?

I thought only Concorde went that high, and most other stuff was 28,000 to 35,000.Originally posted by hyperDIf a plane breaks up at 45,000 ft then you'll only be conscious for a few seconds anyway due to low partial pressure of oxygen at that altitude - assuming hitting the wall of freezing cold air at 500 mph doesn't rip your head off first.
Not that it would make a whole lot of difference.

Infidel, pagan, heathen, you are damned as sure
as eggs is eggs.Originally posted by planetitChico I am still waiting for an answer re the cat. Should I kill the cat or just burn down it's home to teach it a lesson?
The Kitten is watching you, remember, it says in the good book (the observer book of cats) 'whatever you do unto the slightest of my subjects, you do also unto me.'

That is a different argument than simply saying that it is a sin in the eyes of god chico. Anyway I havent had an affair yet (well certainly not in the Bill Clinton book of "affair definitions")Originally posted by ChicoDodgy give up the affair - you know it is wrong. You will end up hurting your wife, your mistress, your kids (if you have any) or yourself. Either way somebody is going to get hurt. Worse case scenario you all get hurt and all for what?

Chico I am still waiting for you to tell me whether adultery is a sin in the same way that killing is a sin (i.e it is only a sin under certain circumstances)Originally posted by ChicoWe have guided missiles and misguided men.
