Oh dear: Leading football brand loses big sponsor

Vodafone, who have sponsored Manchester United since 2000, are ending a four-year shirt deal two years early. The latest deal, worth about £9m ($15.5m) a year, began only last season and will now end in May 2006.

I wonder what the real reason is. Have Man Utd lined up more money from someone else?
