I went for an interview there once and went round and round the one way system for about 15 hours unable to escape.

Only five contraflow mini-roundabouts? Hemel Hempstead's magic roundabout has six.Originally posted by Paddy View PostI almost got to Swindon but I got too giddy going around the roundabouts.

I used to live in Devizes and commuted to Pipers Way Swindon daily via Wroughton passing the science museum - no problems at all.
Devizes is not that bad to get through - however, maybe look a going through the many back lanes, I think Potterne?
Is a lovely journey through the Avebury stone circle!

IIRC there's a country lane route around Devizes where you can avoid that bottleneck. It was more coming in via Wroughton that I thought could be problematic.

The best thing about Swindon is that there are many roads our of it.
Once you get out, there is some of the best and most interesting countryside in the country.
