Here is a whacky idea for a hobby. Might even make a good plan B also.

    Stained glass windows.

    BUT..
with a modern theme, rather than a religious one. Like a man with a zapper pointing at the telly. Or a kid on the PS, or a mum pushing a pram, or a tescos shop front

    etc

I bought a dijeridoo with every intention of learning to play, but that darned circular breathing, I can't get the hang of it.

Makes you wonder about the state of those that 'failed' it!

    How about reenactment ?

It can be a very consuming hobby, and a chap at work here does it. They're sticklers for authenticity in their chosen era, and they organise mass pitched battles across the UK, with every weekend in summer taken up with an event.

During the winter months, they prepare for the coming summer, polishing and repairing kit, practicing their riding skills (he's a cavalryman), organising socials, etc.

Pick an era and immerse yourself in it. It's a great escapist hobby, in which you get to educate others about the time period, and get paid for it as well.

Not recommended, did that one the other week after watching a programme about Calvinism in Scotland. The subject can get quite depressing.
