While I have been living away from home, this Easter Cactus has been in a room with closed curtains except for alternate weekends. It has been watered fortnightly.
It started producing buds a couple of weeks ago and is now covered with flowers that are shortly to open.
What a remarkably robust plant.

Easter Cactus - the plant for the neglectful
My Easter Cactus is at least ten years old. Probably 20.
It has been moved many, many times and is totally neglected. It goes for weeks without being watered.
Sometimes lots of leaves fall off for no apparent reason.
Sometimes it flowers.
Yesterday I found it in the cardboard box the removals men had put it in ... three weeks ago.
It has sprouted lots of new little leaves.
