In my humble opinion, a clientco that wants to hold on of the experiments, it basically sums them up. Do you really want to work in a zoo full of lemmings?

All this kind of rubbish always surfaces in tough economic times by HR departments who have nothing to do.
Usually for permy roles 1st interview should establish whether you know what you are doing, second to meet the stakeholders. Generally IME the 2nd is basically a rubber stamping and arse covering exercise, the decision to hire is made on the first interview.
When they start doing rorschach tests and group exercises its a waste of everybodies time

I don't often agree to second / third interviews... I usually ask upfront what the recruitment process is going to be and if it involves more than one interview I decline at that point...
That said, I haven't had any bench time so I may well change that position depending how desperate I get...
I certainly would never agree to group exercises etc...mainly because I was always tulip at them

I did one once where you had to instruct a group of people to distribute a load of tennis balls in certain proportions to a bin in each corner of the room. Then you had to get them to redistribute the balls among the bins in a different ratio. Oddly enough, it was harder than it sounds, I guess it's supposed to demonstrate leadership and the ability to keep a cool head.

My current end client spent three months interviewing permies, second interviewing and then testing. They then decided not to employ any of them. It appeared to me a management exercise.

Second interview for a contract role?
Not good if this is a sign of things to come.

I know it holds permiedom relevance, doubt any of us have done them as a contractor.
