Example, Easter Sunday at the farm, all the kids etc. Zoe (the nutjob dog), is outside and captures a rabbit and proceeds to eat it while it's still alive in full view of all the kids who're screaming 'Zoe's eating the Easter Bunny'.

Was kinda horrifying watching the dog eating the rabbit from the back end while the front is still trying to run away. Hardly a Kodak moment.

ffs....that's what the dog's instincts tell it to do...most gundogs would do the same...does the kids good to be exposed to life...not hidden from it...

only nutjobs are people who blame the dogs for acting like that - then shoot it...pathetic!!

Sure, but that's not the question I asked. If the animals ARE going to be in such terrible conditions, would you rather have them 'natural' and in pain, or genetically modified to find the conditions more tolerable?

This won't be the right answer but it is mine - natural and in pain. How else will welfare standards improve?

No it is ethical to remove the conditions that induce the constant pain. I know that sounds bloody smug but I'm really not comfortable with engineering creatures for our convenience.

Kids and adults were traumatised, wasn't very pleasant. I couldn't find the keys to the gun cabinet or the therapist would have been on overtime.

Selectively bred, not genetically engineered. I accept that doesn't make some of the 'modern' breeds acceptable.
