look around you - restuarants are full again, they were empty last year. Retails sales robust. Heck even the scrappage seems to be working.

The difference is, Japanese people are sensible. Give them free money and they put it in the bank and save for the future. British people get the dosh and go and buy another buy-to-let or a car they can't really afford. Boom time returns with inevitable crash shortly afterwards.
