Nope - just people with memories who remember the position some Americans took prior to 911. This man, by his own admission (not that he could deny it given that he was on camera enough times) was an active fund raiser for NORAID. Anyone so doing is at best a blinkered idiot and at worst a supporter of terrorism.

Sorry, but I will reserve my mourning for people who deserve it. If you think that is "jumping on the gravestone" then so be it. I suspect there are a few thousand people who lost loved ones due to the money this "person" raised who would like to do just that though.

Personally think it's an end of an era.

Yep, he had his faults, no doubt about that but he did a lot for the Peace Process.

Oh! Is that what this thread is all about.

    Now it makes sense.

So this is a thread saying "who gives a tulip?" and "nobody" lots of times.

    Non story. Move on.

He was a member of the US senate since 1962 and led education and healthcare reforms. He was very widely respected in his country for his work.

    He had a few faults.

I suppose where I'm going is that he didn't do anything in particular for our great country (Libya possibly - sales of Armalites must have gone through the roof) so, whilst it's a tragedy for his family, it's not a tragedy for us.

I don't glory in his death, but I can't grieve either.

i've never been one for censorship which the cull of the op might have seemed like. but there are ways of saying things and there are ways. that was well put zippy...
