Oh dear WageSlave,
"you're a glorified double glazing salesman, not a McKinsey consultant!",
and you think a Mckinsey consultant is anything more than a glorified double glazing salesman ?
Pots and kettles.

And Sysman, thanks for the spelling. I've been reading too many books about particle physics on the toilet.

Last one I had the agent kept jumping in with completely daft suggestions (obviously thought he was a Big 4 consultant). Actually the client wasn't much better - dumped them later on

you have a point
I agree with most of the points made on this thread, particularly with regards to job titles. I have only ever sat in on one interview. I did not understand a thing that was being discussed and I was embarassed because I thought that the contractor was a disaster. At the end of the interview I was very pleasantly surprised when the client took me to one side, thanked me for finding the right person and offered him a contract there and then
Of course being an agent I couldnt resist saying to the client "yeah I knew he was fine after I gave him a thorough technical grilling earlier"
There is only one thing that is worse than agents dealing with HR, and that I am afraid would be the prospect of all you propellerheads cold calling hiring managers direct. A few months of that and the hiring managers (and contractors for that matter) would be begging HR and us to come back

Agent, 'It'.
As in Hannibal, the scene with the girl down the well.
"It rubs the lotion into it's skin".
Ah, neuter, yes they should be.
