Saw IG the first day it was out in the preview weekend last weekend.
Cliche-laden? Oh yes.
Hitler = caricature? Yes.
UK people = repressed, upper-school idiots of the year? Yes.
Goebbels = ******? Yes.
Forgettable apart from Melanie Laurent who was the only good part in an otherwise wholly forgettable film.
Whilst one might normally expect gore from QT - not particularly in this one.

Saw this last night
Seemed like his most polished film yet. Felt more of a mature offering than pulp fiction and resevoir dogs
One thing I did pick up on though.... this is the second film in which Brad Pitt has gone round scalping Germans!

Saw thus last week. A bum numbing 2 1/2 hours, and instantly forgettable film from a director who hasn't made a good film in years.
He set a very high standard early on, but this effort is a self indulgent waffle fest, that lacks the subtletly and wit of his earlier classics.

I had to chuckle last night when watching Shining Through. It got to the point where it was threatening to become all subtitles so they cut back to the old lady reciting her memories in a TV show where the presenter asked her to tell her story in English.Originally posted by sal626 View PostYeah, QT got german actors for the german parts and French for French parts. For a change, they all spoke their native languages as well. Over half the film is subtitled.
Sadly yet another war film where the Yanks claimed the credit for stuff the British did: linky

Saw this last night and loved it, not pulp fiction but still very entertaining. About a dozen people walked out which was a little wierd, I felt like they must have been watching a different film to me. Great acting, great dialogue scenes and bloody funny in places. Highly recommended.

I saw the original last week, on a DVD Sainsbury was flogging for £3, which seemed reasonable.Originally posted by sal626 View PostSaw this last night…..highly recommended.
But don’t expect a “tarintino remake of dirty dozen”. Not really even an action move…but great story, characters and dialogue.
The Tarantino remake had a rotten review in the Times today. So I won't bother with that.

I rather liked Troy, I don't rate Brad Pitt these days but he was good in "12 Monkeys" (when Gilliam allowed him to act) and "Fight Club" (although Ed Norton trounced him).

Nice little film, although like stated above don't think that this is a Dirty Dozen type movie, it doesn't go into the background or focuses much on some of the IBs.
Brad Pitt's acting was terrible in this one.

Normally German actors only do Nazi roles because they can't get anything else but apparently they were all queuing up to get in this film.
