Let's rename the whole of England to London.

Tourism country wide would benefit and we could all work for banks without needing to commute into the City.

House prices would automatically go up to London prices and we'd all be BOOMED.

Side benefit: Estate agents and pimps would be seriously confused.

FFS its not even on the London SIDE of Oxford. Its in Kidlington which is North north West of Oxford - away from London.

If Swindon keeps its landing fees low everyone will use it.......

Currently Manchester stand to lose almost 2 million pounds of next year's revenue, and it appears that they are too late because Ryanair have already announced that they will stop 44 flights a week from 1st October. Well done Ryanair. Stuff the parasitic airport services !!

I think the lack of flights to and from Swindon airport has something to do with Swindon not having an airport.

That would be Lyneham. I would put a Hercules on a par with Ryanair for comfort.

Well, Frankfurt Hahn airport is approx. 100 km from Frankfurt so I see no problem here. It's actually good for Oxford and is better than building yet another airport in congested London.

Let's hope this leads to higher rates for us New Londonshire contractors.

Well, you can already catch the "London Tube" (bus service) from Oxford.
