In a sense, you're right, some of it is harmless fun. Spartacus, Gordon Brown and the like.

And as sasguru (I think) pointed out the other day, it's quite revealing how peoples' attitudes vary depending on the outlook or "persona" one presents and just the avatar.

Chetty reminds me of some of the Indian dudes I met when my folks were out in the Mid East - things like his use of the word "Britishers" to refer to you guys for example are used quite commonly. They use quite a lot of old fashioned English expressions which may make some of you think he is being hammed up somewhat but unless you've spent time is S.Asia (as I have) you're unlikely to realise the reality of it. So guys, please either accept him as he is or if you don't then at least give his puppetmaster SOME credit at least.

So, for example, calling someone who just happens to be called Nick Griffin "Racist", may or may not be showing the requisite amount of respect. If they are Nick Griffin of the BNP, then it's probably ok. It they're not, and are not in fact racist, then it isn't ok.
