    First thing that occured to me.
    If you were a contractor would say no way in hell should you sign anything but as an employee operating under instructions you would be a lot harder to sue directly

    But this is really wrong place to ask, it's a contractor board after all

    Consult a lawyer (god i seem to be saying that a lot lately)

    If you were an employee not a director what case do they have against you?

    Don't sign anything without legal advice, if you don't want legal advice then don't sign, if HR offer to pay for legal advice pick your own solicitor not theirs.

    Blimey. From one dodgy outfit to another.

    I think ignoring the issue "I'm not getting involved" is possibly the worst course of action. It is equal to "I refuse to co-operate with my management".

    I think your options are:

    - "What's in it for me if I sign?"

    - "I will do what you ask, but beware: I will only tell the truth and no money or pressure will make me lie for you."

    - "I cannot possibly comment, I do not know enough about the situation as it was. Sorry. I'd love to help, but..."

    Meanwhile:

    Document everything that has happened to date.
    Get photocopies or electronic copies of everything they want you to say / sign.
    Do not walk.
    Read up online on 'constructive dismissal'. There are some short, helpful guides out there.

    Have they given you a reason why they are asking you to sign something? Is it part of your job?
    If you had no responsibility for the status of others then say so if they force you to make a statement.

    Id still want to know whats my options are and what is in it for me first, walking from a paying job in this climate would not be high on my list of priorities just right now.

    Yeah that's about right. The small company completely blagged the current company. Telling them the consulting team was bigger than it really was, to the extent of changing people's job descriptions and falsifying timesheets.

    The original company deserve what's coming to them, but I dont want to be a part of it

    Yes, but they run the risk of being on the wrong end of a couple of law suits, one from the current client who sounds a litigious type, and a potential counter suit.

    Reading between the lines it sounds like the big consultancy didn't do their due diligence right and the key players walked.
