Thanks, that's the one I went for. The parents are the jet-setting type and seemed pretty happy with it, even though it won't get any use for a couple of years.
I bought it because they are designed and built in the UK, so something of a rarity. It's stylish, badly built in my opinion: plastic load-bearing joints and scratchy plastic hinges.

If it's in-lieu of a Christening, why not something more Christening related than a toy. Like a silver money-box with £50 in it? Or some Peter Rabbit crockery?

I've got one of those selectable power adapters at home that’s gathering dust in drawer, I might hardwire it to the psychedelic jungle tonight... ooh she will be pleased.

Much more soothing than the 'incy wincy spider' clakety thing that wakes us up most mornings at 4:00 AM.

On another topic, has anyone heard from Mary Poppins recently?

We've got one of those and it's great. Eats batteries though.

They have a massive house, so cheap bulky plastic junk is an option.

I am just going through the process of rasing my own so:
it depends if you want to impress the parents or the baby.
If the baby, give him sth that rattles and is colorful maybe.
For the parents you can give a Baby Mozart CD or just classical music.
